The Color Run

On Sunday my sister and I participated in The Color Run. It is a 5K race that as you go through you get colored by volunteers throwing colored powder at you. It was so much fun, and although it is a "race" there is no timing or race results. First or last it doesn't matter, this one is all about fun!

The race started at 9:00 am at minute maid park. we were running behind so we made it to the start right before 9. It wasn't a big deal because we planned on walking the whole thing, and because you could start up until 9:45 am.

The first color we came across is BLUE... here is a far away shot we were so excited as we approached the color zone.

The next color was ORANGE! Here's an awesome pic of me totally colored in orange...
Then it was time for my favorite color PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were starting to run out of color by the time we got there, so there wasn't much pink being thrown :(

Finally it was time for some YELLOW... Check out my sister fully covered in yellow. By this time the yellow volunteers were sweeping the yellow up into shovels so they could use it again. We found a volunteer with a shovel full of yellow and said come on throw it at us! AND HE DID!!!!!!!!!!
That was the last color during the race, but at the end you had your own packets of color to further decorate yourself and other runners :) So by the time we were done with our packets this is what we looked like...
The most amazing part of this race was that all color came out of our hair and off our skin! we thought we'd look like rainbows for a couple of days.

So look up the color run and see if there is one in your area, because it was the most fun EVER!

My first post

So after reading a friend's blog for the last couple of months, I decided that it would be AWESOME if I made my own. Evey time I read hers I think gee... I wish I had all my thoughts in a cool place that I can add pictures to and look back on. So after a couple weeks of debating I finally took the plunge and signed up. My first post will obviously be about starting a blog Duh....

First of all, coming up with a name for a blog is really hard. I went to a lot of websites and did some research on coming up with a great blog name. I wanted to be original, include my interests (which if you couldn't figure out from the title I LOVE STAR WARS!), and (as other bloggers recommended) be specific about what I wanted to talk about in my blog. So maybe my title isn't very original (well no one else had come up with it yet) referencing Star Wars is nothing new. BUT it is a great interest of mine, so I'm O.K. with not being the most clever blog creator. I also thought the title was a good fit for what I wanted to talk about here, MY LIFE (things I like, things I do, things, interests, frustrations, etc.) and I think being a Jedi would be a great life. I hope people don't search and expect my blog to be some great Star Wars revelation and insight page, because that's not what I'm trying to do here. Don't get me wrong there will be a healthy dose of Star Wars references, images, and such; just don't expect every post to be centered around the subject.

Second, Page design! Yikes, lots of pressure. Like I said above, this isn't going to be all about Star Wars, so that is why I didn't choose a Star Wars theme, but as a personal chuckle for me the font I use is the Droid font (Now everyone can get a good little chuckle in because I'm so funny!). Maybe down the road when I get the hang of this better my layout and that will change, but for now this is what you get. Deal with it.

And FINALLY, writing my first post. Hopefully I'm doing a good job!? This is all new to me. I don't even know if any of this will get read by others, but I will be able to come back and see this and smile. So what's to come from future posts? Well running/racing recaps, crafting projects, fun things that I do with my life, questions/frustrations I have, and who knows what else. Feel free to comment on anything, I clearly chose this over a private paper diary to interact with others.
